THE SILK ROAD WHERE EAST AND WEST COLIDE

“THERE ARE NO LIMITS” RANYA MOHAMMED

PART ONE – STRIPPED BACK: “How do you feel about shooting tattooed subjects in an amazing venue in Brighton”? Where do I sign was my reply lol. We had a great day with PLENTY of food and I also gained some further insight into the brand, its ideas and why it is in existence. Raniya, I look forward to giving more of your ideas a visual presence.  Model: Francine  /  Mehndi: Nikki Kalsi. Instagram: nikki_kalsi  /  Jewellery by:  Nichakan Nolan: Instagram : @nichakanjewellery  /  Make up: L’Amour Chante  /  Concept, Creative Direction & Styling: Raniya Mohammed for Mugen No Warrior

PART TWO – THE SILK ROAD: “Agenda we are now ready to start talking about the next phase for Mugen No Warrior” We start building mood boards and concepts to help guide us on this shoot. A different vibe from the Brighton shoot, less time means a tight focus on what has to be done. I am proud of the results.  Make up: L’Amour Chante  /  Concept, Creative Direction & Styling: Raniya Mohammed for Mugen No Warrior

MUGEN NO WARRIOR STORY, JOURNEY AND FINAL YEAR PROJECT

Words on the project from Raniya Mohammed

Stripped Back – The Story: I wanted to take a journey with a few individuals who had inked themselves and had a story to tell. Each Inked item on their body had significance – it was about seeing past their clothes and their ink, and to embrace their tattoos – ownership of once what signified a different kind of ownership. I wanted to take something negative and turn it into something positive. With Agenda, and his style of work, I felt that we would be able to capture the scene and the mood. Shooting on location in Brighton was a real adventure.

The Silk Road – The Journey: For this part of my Final Project – I wanted to take a closer look at what Mugen No Warrior was really about – what it stood for. For me, everything has to have a story – that journey to get one from one destination to another – that organic growth of self and identity.

The Silk Road is a historic journey where East and West collide – where two worlds suddenly discover this ability to journey from one side of the world to the next and learn more about the world, that there were no more limits to what anyone put their mind too. Also my love for the drama, I wanted to marry my two favourite TV series and a really wonderful movie i once watched = Games of Throne + Marco Polo + The Karma Sutra.

I chose my model based on what is going on in the world today, races and cultures and are mixing – my model looks so ambiguous without anyone truly being to pinpoint her origin. She can be anything she wants to be. The images i created with Agenda, were about truly pushing the mind and creating something beautiful.
